Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the US Open match.
Jannik Sinner
In 2025, Sinner won the Australian Open and Wimbledon, reached the Roland Garros final and has set his sights on the US Open trophy. Jannik is on a 26-match winning streak at hard-court Grand Slams. At the US Open the Italian has been in control, dropping just one set and committing only 11 double faults. He has beaten four top-50 opponents through the draw, and in the quarter-final Sinner defeated world No. 10 Lorenzo Musetti without facing a single break point (6:1, 6:4, 6:2).
Félix Auger-Aliassime
Auger-Aliassime has delighted supporters this season with two ATP 250 titles and this US Open semi-final. He has navigated a demanding section, beating Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur. However, his record against the elite remains a concern: of five semi-finals at Masters and Slams, Félix has won only one. The main issue has been the volume of double faults — he has already hit 33 in New York. Head-to-head, the Canadian leads Jannik Sinner (2-1), but those wins came early in the Italian’s career, and their most recent meeting was one-sided: (0:6, 2:6).
Jannik Sinner vs Félix Auger-Aliassime Prediction
Jannik Sinner is progressing through the draw with authority and rarely allows opportunities, whereas Félix Auger-Aliassime has often fallen short in the latter stages of big events. Given the Italian’s recent win at the Cincinnati Masters, we expect similar control here.
