Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Wimbledon match.
Jannik Sinner is in exceptional form and has been commanding in his performances at Wimbledon. Across his opening three matches, he dropped only 17 games — a statistic that even surpasses Roger Federer at a similar stage. His next opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, has not advanced beyond the fourth round at this tournament since 2014 and continues to struggle against top-level competition.
Jannik Sinner
Since returning from suspension, Jannik Sinner has built significant momentum, winning 15 of his last 18 matches, with 14 of those victories coming in straight sets. His winners-to-unforced-errors ratio (112–69) points to a high degree of control and efficiency. So far at Wimbledon, he has yet to be broken and has consistently maintained a high level of play. He has won an average of 77% of points on his first serve and has struck 32 aces across his three matches.
Grigor Dimitrov
By comparison, Grigor Dimitrov has not displayed the level required to threaten the Italian. This season, he has suffered comprehensive defeats to three top-10 players, each by a margin of at least seven games. In the previous round, the Bulgarian needed a third-set tie-break to overcome Sebastian Ofner, and before that, he dropped a set to Corentin Moutet. His fitness is also a concern — Dimitrov has pulled out of four tournaments this year and has been forced to retire early from two of his last three Wimbledon appearances due to physical issues.
Jannik Sinner vs Grigor Dimitrov Prediction
Grigor Dimitrov has struggled to match elite players and lacks the stamina for a lengthy battle. Up against the powerful and composed Jannik Sinner, the veteran Bulgarian appears to stand little chance.
