Jaume Munar has deserved to reach this stage. He has a chance to advance to the next round, but now he will need to face Casper Ruud, who has recently won the ATP Madrid tournament.

Munar is 66th in the ATP rankings, he’s fallen 13 positions after ATP Madrid. He was eliminated in the first round by Roberto Bautista Agut (6:4, 2:6, 3:6). Jaume tried to fix this at a Challenger tournament but he was eliminated again, in the Round of 16. In Rome, jaume Munar has already beaten Ben Shelton (12) and Sebastian Korda (22).
Casper Ruud
Casper Ruud faced Munar in Dallas in the semi-final. Casper Ruud won, although it wasn't an easy game (6:2, 2:6, 7:6). It was his fourth win in their 5 head-to-head games, and second in a row in several weeks. Casper Ruud was stronger in the Australian Open first round (6:3, 1:6, 7:5, 2:6, 6:1). Casper Ruud lost the final. The Dallas and Madrids tournaments were the best for the Norwegian player in this season.

Alexander Bublik has been the closest to win a game versus Casper Ruud in Rome. Jaume Munar will be a dangerous opponent too. Casper Ruud’s lead won’t be huge.
