Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP London match.
Jiri Lehecka, fresh off a confident win over Alex de Minaur—who is currently not at his best—will face Gabriel Diallo, a player delivering the finest tennis of his career so far.
Jiri Lehecka
Jiri Lehecka made an impressive start by defeating a seeded opponent. However, it is important to note that Alex de Minaur (No.12) entered the match without any grass-court preparation and was clearly below par—committing 28 unforced errors and struggling with his first serve, landing just 54% and winning 68% of points behind it. This season, Lehecka has won three of his four grass-court matches, though only one of those victories came by a margin greater than four games. Notably, his opponents included Benjamin Bonzi (No.64) and Jan-Lennard Struff (No.103), neither of whom are considered top-tier players.
Gabriel Diallo
Gabriel Diallo is enjoying a strong run of form, having won six consecutive matches on grass, including impressive wins over Ugo Humbert and Karen Khachanov en route to the title in ’s-Hertogenbosch. He has been serving exceptionally well, averaging 11 aces per match, with a 67% first‐serve success rate and winning 78% of those points. Diallo has sustained a high tempo in baseline exchanges throughout this stretch.
Jiri Lehecka vs Gabriel Diallo Prediction
Gabriel Diallo is in excellent form, and his game translates seamlessly to grass. Jiri Lehecka has yet to truly convince. While the Czech may be viewed as the favourite, we see solid value in backing the Canadian with a slight buffer.
