Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Wimbledon match.
João Fonseca continues his Wimbledon journey and now faces a serious test in the form of Jenson Brooksby. The young Brazilian impressed at Roland Garros and will now look to carry that momentum onto grass.
João Fonseca
Fonseca has been improving with every match on this surface. Despite some struggles when returning serve, he’s been rock-solid on his own delivery — not dropping a single service game in his last four matches. In the Wimbledon first round, João cruised past Jacob Fearnley, firing 11 aces and dominating on first serve (71% accuracy and 84% points won).
Jenson Brooksby
Brooksby, meanwhile, has crammed his schedule since returning to the tour. The American has played 11 matches on grass since the start of June, winning seven. However, his serve lacks punch — just 63% first-serve accuracy and 72% conversion. With no rest over the past ten days, fatigue could become a major issue, especially on the physically demanding grass courts.
João Fonseca vs Jenson Brooksby Prediction
Fonseca appears more composed and solid at the moment. With his current serving form and Brooksby’s likely drop in stamina, the Brazilian should come through with a margin of at least three games.
