Simon Dalton presents his prediction bet on match of the Shanghai Masters snooker.
Shaun Murphy and Judd Trump will meet in the Shanghai Masters’s final. Both players demonstrate high level of break building at the Shanghai tournament and excellent readiness at the start of the new season.
Judd is playing well and is undoubtedly the favourite in the final match. Bookmakers are offering odds of 4/11 for Trump to win and 2/1 for Murphy to win, which translates to 70-30. We think that Shaun's chances are not as bad as we see from the odds. Shaun went well throughout the tournament and played well against serious opponents from a position of strength. If you want to play more risky, you can take a clear victory for Murphy at 2/1, but we see a more confident bet on the 2.5 frame handicap on Shaun Murphy.
During all the week in Shanghai Shaun made four centuries and sixteen half-centuries in twenty two winning frames, which is a very good level. Judd Trump made seven centuries and nine half-centuries. We believe that both players will maintain this high level of break building in the final and make at least 14 half centuries.
