Juventude are in the relegation zone and desperate for points to keep their survival hopes alive, while Corinthians are looking to break a run of draws and push towards the top half of the table.
Juventude
Juventude are enduring a poor run — four straight defeats and sitting second from bottom in Serie A. They have turned to Thiago Carpini, who previously managed them in 2023 with some success. Their main issue is defensive fragility, with 35 goals conceded in 16 matches, the worst record in the league. That said, all 11 of their points have come at home, where Juventude have lost only three of eight games.
Corinthians
Corinthians have drawn their last three league matches and now trail the leaders by 15 points, while focusing much of their energy on the Copa do Brasil, where they recently knocked out Palmeiras. Away from home, Corinthians have been poor — just five goals scored and 13 conceded in nine away fixtures. Their problems are compounded by injuries to key forwards Memphis Depay and Yuri Alberto, both ruled out of this match.

With Juventude’s stronger home record and Corinthians’ attacking issues, especially without their two main strikers, the hosts have every chance of avoiding defeat.
