Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
The meeting between Juventus and Atalanta is unquestionably the headline fixture of Matchday Five. The encounter in Turin last season proved a turning point for Juventus and brought about a change of head coach. Now Igor Tudor will aim to get the better of Atalanta.
Juventus
Juventus slipped up in the previous round against Hellas Verona (1:1), which was understandable given the heavy physical and emotional workload. The players have since had a short but much-needed rest and are ready to reset.
Atalanta
Atalanta’s situation is far from ideal. Over the past fortnight, key performers Isak Hien, Giorgio Scalvini, Nicola Zalewski and Charles De Ketelaere have joined the injury list. In addition, influential midfielder Éderson José is still sidelined. All of them are integral to Atalanta’s set-up, and replacing them will be extremely difficult.
Juventus vs Atalanta Prediction
Juventus intend to contest the top places this season. If that is the objective, the squad should be beating injury-hit opponents — and doing so without major fuss.
