Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Juventus have made a spirited return to the Champions League with two victories, scoring six goals. This successful run in Europe goes hand-in-hand with a strong start in the league. Against Lazio, their close rivals on the table, the Turin side will look to play in their preferred style: denying their opponents chances in their own half while creating dangerous opportunities through an active midfield.
Juventus
By mid-October, Juventus have reached a significant milestone as the only unbeaten team in Serie A. Over seven rounds, they have conceded just one goal, which came against Cagliari (1:1) at the very end through a penalty. The team lead the tournament by a margin in xGA (3.70), and their xG is marginally better than the league leaders Napoli (10.36 vs 10.32).
Lazio
Lazio's reasonably good results have benefitted from a relatively easy fixture list in the early part of the season: prior to facing dangerous opponents, they only met AC Milan (2:2). Before their streak of four victories, Lazio were defeated away by Fiorentina (2:1), where the team allowed a hefty 2.48 xGA with 14 shots. In Turin, Lazio will be without four defenders — Manuel Lazzari, Samuel Gigot, Mattéo Guendouzi, and Patric Gabarrón.
Juventus vs Lazio Prediction
Current Juventus give fans hope of reclaiming the Scudetto. Against Lazio, the Turin club will undoubtedly create more chances and boast a superior quality of forwards — goals are assured.
