Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the FIFA Club World Cup match.
The Group G decider at the Club World Cup will determine who finishes top between Juventus and Manchester City. Both sides comfortably overcame the group’s underdogs and now go head-to-head for first place.
Juventus
Under Igor Tudor, Juventus have adopted an attacking approach, scoring nine goals in the tournament. Randal Kolo Muani, Kenan Yıldız, and Francisco Conceição have been directly involved in seven of them. However, the defensive trio of Pierre Kalulu, Nicolò Savona, and Lloyd Kelly have shown signs of vulnerability. This was particularly evident in the match against Wydad Athletic Club, where Juventus conceded in the first half and allowed a total of 15 shots on goal. While the Italians are unbeaten in their last six fixtures, they have made at least one costly defensive error in four of those matches.
Manchester City
Manchester City entered the tournament following a frustrating season, which is now being used as a chance to rebuild. Even with a rotated line-up, the squad cruised past the same opponents with an aggregate score of 8:0. Rodrigo Hernández Cascante has returned from injury to bring stability to the midfield, while Erling Haaland continues to provide the main attacking threat. Notably, Manchester City have suffered only one defeat in their last 15 matches – a 1:0 loss to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
Juventus vs Manchester City Prediction
Juventus’s defence is unlikely to withstand sustained pressure, and Manchester City will be eager to avenge their Champions League setback from last season. We are backing Manchester City to take at least a point from this encounter, with both teams expected to contribute to a Total Over 1.5 goals.
