Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women's Champions League match.
Heading into their first group stage encounter in the Champions League, both Juventus and Arsenal have suffered defeats against Bayern Munich, who currently top the group table. Bookmakers have tipped the London side as favourites for securing the second spot, given their greater international experience, whereas the Turin team lacks a roster filled with top-tier talent.
Juventus (women)
Even against Vålerenga (1:0), Juventus struggled to escape high pressing, as the opposition recorded more shots (16-22). Against Bayern Munich (0:2), they were unfortunate with their finishing: they had less possession (31%) but managed more shots on target (5-4). It seems likely that the Italians will regain their scoring touch in European competitions soon, as they have won three consecutive domestic matches in November with a total score of 10:0.
Arsenal (women)
Following their setback against Bayern Munich (2:5), Arsenal also began to open up more; in four of their last six matches, the total over 2.5 has been achieved. In the second round against Vålerenga (4:1), Arsenal had 15 shots on target, with Alessia Russo leading a relentless attack against the underdog's defence.
Juventus (women) vs Arsenal (women) Prediction
In their previous Champions League group stage encounter, Juventus managed just one point in two matches against Arsenal (1:1 and 0:1). Both the Italian and English sides will aim to assert their dominance—they have the capability to exploit each other's mistakes and score at least three goals.
