Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Scottish Premiership match.
A painful defeat to Ross County (0:1) prevented Kilmarnock from closing the gap to the playoff zone—they remain three points adrift. Meanwhile, Motherwell have settled into the top 6 of the championship, but they should look to avoid dropping points in the coming weeks.
Kilmarnock
Since Christmas, Kilmarnock have managed to secure two wins in four rounds, pulling themselves away from the bottom of the table. Their attack is far from the strongest with 25 goals, placing them third from the bottom, and in their last five matches, the total goals under 2.5 has occurred just once. On their home turf, they have shown commendable defence, conceding only 11 out of the 37 goals against them this season.
Motherwell
A victory over Aberdeen (2:0) allowed Motherwell to end a winless streak that stretched over the last four matches since mid-December. During this spell, they managed only three successful strikes, with two of those matches ending in goalless defeats. However, they did impressively hold Rangers to a 2:2 draw at home. Yet, away from home, Motherwell have faced four defeats in the last five matches, making their upcoming away fixture crucial to error-free performance.
Kilmarnock vs Motherwell Prediction
Since November 2023, Kilmarnock and Motherwell have seen the total goals under 2.5 in their last four head-to-head encounters. Thus, we advise betting on the total under again, as both teams are likely to approach this match cautiously.
