Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Scottish Premiership match.
Despite being title contenders, Rangers’ recent home defeat to a mid-table side raises questions about their form. Meanwhile, Kilmarnock, currently ninth, boast a strong home record at Rugby Park.
Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock have won three of their last five home games, losing just once—a 0:1 defeat to Ross County. In their last 10 Premiership matches, they have conceded more than once only in a 2:3 loss to Heart of Midlothian, keeping their goals conceded to a minimum in other games.
Rangers
Last weekend, Rangers lost 0:2 at Ibrox to St. Mirren. They were fortunate that the referee reversed his decision to send off attacking midfielder Hamza Igamane late in the first half. Even with a full-strength lineup, they struggled as St. Mirren demonstrated superior power and strength. Rangers had been unbeaten in domestic competitions for nine matches, but February has seen inconsistent results, with defeats to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup and now St. Mirren.
Kilmarnock vs Rangers Prediction
Despite recent setbacks, we believe Rangers remain strong favourites with a five-game unbeaten away run. However, Kilmarnock will not be easily overrun, as they have not suffered heavy defeats recently.
