Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Segunda División match.
The start to the season has been poor for Las Palmas: theн have dropped points in three of their four rounds and risk missing the chance to cement themselves among the leaders. Real Sociedad B, meanwhile, are fighting to avoid the relegation zone and have shown resilience, yet they continue to struggle against the division’s favourites.
Las Palmas
Las Palmas, after returning to the Segunda División, appear to have underestimated the level of competition. The team failed to score in the last two rounds: a 0:1 defeat to Málaga and a goalless draw with Burgos. The defence has not been particularly reliable either — only one clean sheet in four rounds, and, stretching back to last season, they have conceded in nine of their previous ten matches.
Real Sociedad B
Real Sociedad B are trying to find a balance between pragmatism at the back and a more open approach. They started cautiously with a narrow 1:0 win over Real Zaragoza and a 0:1 defeat to Málaga. That was followed by two high-scoring draws — 2:2 with Almería and 3:3 with Cádiz — in which the team led but let the lead slip. Gorka Carrera and Lander Astiazaran have been particularly effective, each contributing two goal contributions early on.
Las Palmas vs Real Sociedad B Prediction
Las Palmas are still adapting to the Segunda División and the results have been modest, with defensive reliability lacking. Real Sociedad B are likely to capitalise on errors at the back and should score at least once.
