On Wednesday, Atalanta tried hard to beat Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, but eventually lost (0:2). The game against Lecce is not as dangerous for Atalanta, they still have strong players, even if Teun Koopmeiners might leave, the team will be able to reach the top-4.

The official part of the season for Lecce started on Monday. They beat Mantova in the Italian Cup (2:1). This match was tough for the Serie A team. Nikola Krstović scored the winning goal only at the end of the game, where the team played defensively against the Serie B team (38% possession and 9 shots on target). This won’t work against Atalanta, if they play like this, they will concede a goal and probably lose.

In the UEFA Super Cup, Scamacca, Scalvini , Tolói, El Bilal Touré, and Zaniolo weren’t available and Teun Koopmeiners was left out by Gian Piero Gasperini. Even so, Atalanta created 0.59 xG with seven shots against Real Madrid. In the first Serie A game, Atalanta might play Ademola Lookman, Mateo Retegui, and Charles De Ketelaere together. This will make their attack much stronger.
