Leeds earned a goalless draw against Burnley, one of their key competitors in the race for a top-two finish. The 0:0 scoreline was not surprising, given Burnley’s defensive style. This was a rare match in which Leeds failed to score, as they had recorded six clean-sheet victories in their last 10 Championship games before facing Burnley.
Cardiff City
The Welsh club have been in impressive attacking form recently, scoring in eight consecutive matches. They even managed two goals against Millwall, one of the tougher defences in the league. However, Cardiff have consistently struggled against the Championship’s top four—they failed to score against Burnley (0:5), Sunderland (0:2, away), and Sheffield United (0:2, home).

In the first-round meeting, Cardiff were unable to break down Leeds (0:2). Despite their recent scoring run, Cardiff have consistently struggled against the league’s elite. Leeds, on the other hand, have kept three consecutive clean sheets and should extend that run here.
