Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
A Derby County victory is considered highly unlikely. Leeds United raised questions about their consistency after losing to Blackburn Rovers (0:1) away, but now they'll be playing at Elland Road.
Leeds United
The defeat to Blackburn Rovers has placed Leeds United back in their familiar third position. It's no tragedy—everything is under control. No team has been perfect away from home, and this was only Leeds' second such defeat. They have lost once at home too (0:1), but that was against Burnley, a team that is near impenetrable.
Derby County
Derby’s defence is much easier to break down, as shown even at home against Sheffield Wednesday (1:2), where they conceded a decisive goal in the 94th minute. The opposition scored nearly a goal more than expected (0.94 xG), while Derby failed to reach their expected goals (1.83 xG). Their record away is significantly worse, with just one win and three draws in nine matches.
Leeds United vs Derby County Prediction
In their last six encounters at Elland Road, the Yorkshire side have scored at least two goals in each game and conceded only once overall. Therefore, a confident win for Leeds through a total over 1.5 goals seems likely.
