The team posted 1.43 xG, and the duo of the two Anthonys — Anthony Gordon and Anthony Elanga — combined for over 1.00 between them: 0.55 and 0.57 xG respectively. That activity translated into shots on target worth 0.98 xG in the meeting with Liverpool (2:3). Newcastle United scored twice when they were down to ten men.
