Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Leeds United have just secured an important victory over Sheffield United, but they now face a serious challenge against Watford, who have slipped out of the top six due to a recent defeat. To avoid slipping further into mid-table, they too need to pick up points.
Leeds United
Five matches unbeaten and 11 points to show for it, with three clean sheets — that's Leeds’ record for the past month. The team have clearly found their stride, despite the occasional setback. They're scoring plenty, having netted at least two goals in seven matches, which has led to five wins.
Watford
Since the season began, Watford have almost consistently conceded two goals, especially on the road — five out of six times, in fact. The only occasion it didn't lead to a defeat was against Millwall. They even managed a win against the Londoners, but given Millwall’s 20th place standing, it doesn’t seem like a huge success. Their last away game at Luton Town was a disaster. They conceded three goals against a team that had never scored so many, with those three coming from just five shots on target. Watford hardly had a chance, managing just one shot on target themselves.
Leeds United vs Watford Prediction
Their last encounter ended in a 2:2 draw, but that was at Watford's ground. At Elland Road, Leeds United have achieved two clean-sheet victories. While it's not guaranteed that Leeds will avoid conceding, they’re almost certain to score at least two and secure a win.
