Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Liverpool’s English Premier League title charge remains the defining narrative of the season. Travelling to the King Power Stadium, they are expected to assert themselves early, with the squad still needing a few more wins to fully secure their championship celebrations.
Leicester City
Leicester City, on the other hand, appear to have long accepted relegation. The gap to 17th-placed West Ham United stands at 17 points. A spirited 2:2 draw away at Brighton ended a dismal run of nine consecutive defeats across the English Premier League and FA Cup, eight of which saw them fail to score. At home, Leicester City have recorded 32.42 xGA and conceded 33 goals in 16 matches — only Ipswich Town (36) and Southampton (43), both in the relegation zone, have worse defensive records.
Liverpool
Liverpool have given their fans plenty to celebrate in recent days, not only with a well-earned 2:1 victory over West Ham United, but also through new contract extensions for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. Mohamed Salah’s motivation is clear — he is looking to strengthen his position in the English Premier League Golden Boot race (27+18), while his Ballon d'Or ambitions remain alive. Away from home, Liverpool have amassed 35 points — no other side has even reached 30 — scoring 40 goals in 16 away matches.
Leicester City vs Liverpool Prediction
Since February 2022, Leicester City have lost five consecutive meetings with Liverpool, with an aggregate score of 3:13. Even with home advantage, they are unlikely to stop Liverpool.
