Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Wimbledon match.
Dušan Lajović chose to concentrate on the clay court season and has only recently transitioned to faster surfaces ahead of Wimbledon. In contrast, Liam Draxl has competed across all surfaces in 2025 but has yet to make a significant impact at top-level tournaments.
Liam Draxl
Draxl has claimed 26 victories from 40 matches this season. However, all of those wins came on the ATP Challenger Tour, where most of his opponents were ranked outside the ATP top 100. The Canadian has yet to progress through the qualifying stages of a Grand Slam. Additionally, his first serve has been inconsistent this year, registering a 67.5% success rate and a modest conversion percentage.
Dušan Lajović
Lajović holds a similar season record, with 22 wins from 41 matches. He has also spent much of 2025 on the ATP Challenger Tour. However, unlike Draxl, the Serbian has successfully qualified for several Masters-level events. Importantly, he has secured victories over established top-100 players such as Alexander Bublik, Laslo Djere, Cameron Norrie, Ethan Quinn, and Yoshihito Nishioka.
Liam Draxl vs Dušan Lajović Prediction
Draxl has shown flashes of promise this year but lacks experience on the main tour. Lajović is the more seasoned competitor and has demonstrated the ability to handle higher-ranked opponents. He is expected to come through this match without major difficulties against the world number 150.
