Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Doha match.
Linda Nosková and Iga Świątek are set to face each other for the sixth time, having developed a competitive rivalry over the past year. They played four matches last season, with only one—at Indian Wells—ending in a straightforward win for Świątek. In the other encounters, Nosková pushed the world No. 2 to deciding sets. The Czech player is in excellent form and ready to challenge the dominant Świątek, who is on a 13-match winning streak in Doha and aiming for her fourth consecutive title at the tournament.
Linda Nosková
The 20-year-old Czech is currently ranked 33rd in the world. She has won six of her ten matches on hard courts this season, including a strong run to the semi-finals at the WTA 500 event in Abu Dhabi. In Doha, Nosková comfortably defeated Donna Vekić (6:2, 6:4) and Yulia Putintseva (6:2, 6:3) without dropping serve. Nosková has a solid record against top-ranked players—winning at least one set in six of her last matches against top-10 opponents. Notably, in three of her last four matches against Świątek, she managed to take a set.
Iga Świątek
The 23-year-old Pole remains the world No. 2 and has won 10 of 12 hard-court matches this season. After a slow start to 2024, she has gradually regained form. Doha has been one of her strongest tournaments, as she has won 13 consecutive matches at the event. However, in her opening match, she conceded five games to an inconsistent Maria Sakkari (6:4, 6:1), suggesting she may not yet be at her absolute best. Additionally, in four of her last five matches against Czech opponents, Świątek has played at least 19 games.
Linda Nosková vs Iga Świątek Prediction
Nosková is playing at a high level and has previously troubled Świątek, consistently winning sets against top-ranked opponents. Given her strong form and Świątek’s occasional struggles early in tournaments, this match is likely to be competitive.
