This is a EuroBasket match prediction. Lithuania made a confident start to the tournament, beating Great Britain (94:70) in the opening round. Next up is a meeting with Montenegro, a fixture they need to win to stay in contention for top spot.
Lithuania
Lithuania impressed against Great Britain. As expected, the standout was the experienced Jonas Valančiūnas, who posted 18 points and nine rebounds. The supporting cast contributed well too, shooting 50% from the field and 64.7% in the paint. Crucially, the coaching staff, headed by Rimas Kurtinaitis, have implemented a fast, combination-based offence that produced 22 assists and consistently pressured the opposition defence.
Montenegro
Montenegro were unfortunate to open against one of the tournament’s leading contenders, Germany. That immediately offered a measure of the squad’s current level. They were comprehensively beaten (76:106). Defensive organisation was lacking, and they also committed 15 turnovers, handing the opposition easy points.

Lithuania will push hard to reach the play-offs from first place. They are in excellent form and look significantly stronger than their opponent. Another setback appears likely for Montenegro.
