Liverpool
The Merseyside club started the season confidently, defeating Ipswich away. The Premier League newcomers were fortunate, as Liverpool created 2.15 xG with 18 shots in that game. Liverpool also posed a significant threat from corners, taking 10. When the goalkeeper couldn't save, the outfield players stepped in. Ipswich managed seven shots, including two on target, but none of them seemed to trouble Alisson Becker.
Brentford
The West London side have defence issues, conceding 65 goals last season. However, they conceded only once in a recent London derby. Crystal Palace took 14 shots, with six on target, but Mark Flekken was solid this time. His heroics were not enough in a recent friendly against Wolfsburg (4:4). Brentford managed to score two goals from 1.52 xG and five accurate shots, with a deflection helping them out.
Liverpool - Brentford Prediction
In the 2023-24 season, Brentford had 10 matches where they conceded at least three goals, including two meetings with Liverpool: 1:4 at home and 0:3 away. At the Community Stadium, the record of their head-to-head games is balanced with one win for each team and a draw. Notably, at least one of the teams scored three goals in these matches. Considering the strength of Liverpool, such a bet appears favourable.
