Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Liverpool
Liverpool will be satisfied with securing their first league title in five years. Yet, the sense of elation is perhaps even greater for Crystal Palace, who have claimed the first major trophy in their history at the top level — a landmark achievement, especially given the FA Cup is decided in just one final. Since Liverpool sealed the title with a commanding 5:1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the end of April, their level has visibly dropped. In the three matches since then, they have failed to win, drawing just once — a 2:2 game against Arsenal in which they let a two-goal lead slip. That result felt like a missed opportunity, though it was only the fourth time this season that the team dropped points at Anfield. It’s difficult to imagine them faltering again on home turf.
Crystal Palace
However, overcoming Crystal Palace will not be straightforward. Under Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace have stumbled only once in recent weeks — a brief dip in mid-April when they conceded ten goals in two defeats. Across the other 12 fixtures in that stretch, the club remained unbeaten, conceding just eight goals in total.
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Prediction
We maintain our position: Liverpool have a clearly stronger chance of winning and ending the visitors’ impressive run. Still, we are nearly certain — 99% — that Crystal Palace will not lose by more than one goal. That was the case in the reverse fixture as well (0:1). Momentum and belief don’t vanish overnight.
