Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Wimbledon Men's Singles match.
Lorenzo Musetti
Lorenzo Musetti isn't known as the best grass-court player. He doesn’t even come close to the level of his fellow countrymen, Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini. He hadn’t won a grass court match in two years until the previous season.
At the current Wimbledon, he's been quite unstable. He’s struggled in every match on his way to the semi-finals. Lorenzo lost the 1st set to Constant Lestienne, he was 0-2 down against Luciano Darderi and in the next 3 matches he spent over 9 hours on court.
Novak Djokovic
Unlike Musetti, Novak hardly had to play at all. Moreover, he simply skipped a potentially exhausting match against Alex de Minaur as the Australian withdrew injured. He only had two sets in the whole tournament, comfortably beating Holger Rune in just a few hours (6:3, 6:4, 6:2).
In addition, Novak has also been lucky with the draw. He has never lost to an opponent outside the top 20 in the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament. He has won 9 out of 12 times at Wimbledon at this stage.
Lorenzo Musetti – Novak Djokovic prediction
Djokovic has a clear advantage in experience and skill, and he has a 5-1 head-to-head record against Musetti. He even beat Musetti twice on his preferred clay surface. Also, the match is played in the Center Court, which has a faster surface than the Court No.1. This will make it even harder for Musetti.
