Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the EFL Championship match.
After being relegated from the Premier League, Luton Town and Burnley want to quickly reach the top-5 Championship, keeping fighting for promotion all season. Bookmakers slightly favour Luton Town, but Burnley has a better team.
Luton Town
Luton Town kept their manager Rob Edwards despite finishing 18th in the final Premier League table and being relegated as a result. In the pre-season, the team had only one win out of five games, and the last match in early August against Celta Vigo they lost (1:3). Experienced Carlton Morris stands out in the team, he usually plays with Elijah Adebayo. The striker needs to get back in shape after a big injury he got in last campaign.
Burnley
Burnley finished below Luton Town last season, but sometimes played better than them (probably that is the reason Vincent Kompany got an offer from Bayern). Scott Parker became a new manager, who has experience getting teams promoted to the Premier League. In a 1-1 friendly with Cádiz, Lyle Foster scored for Burnley and they managed to keep most of their Premier League team.
Luton Town - Burnley Prediction
In the Premier League, Burnley got four points from two head-to-head games against Luton Town. Burnley won’t lose in an away game, so they will win or draw.
