Adam Williams presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
In the last round, Žalgiris Kaunas saw their three-game winning streak come to an end with a defeat to ASVEL (72:78). Now, they travel to Belgrade, where they have a great opportunity to bounce back.
Maccabi Tel Aviv
Last week was eventful for Maccabi Tel Aviv. They parted ways with Wenyen Gabriel, who averaged about 6 points and 5 rebounds in 15 minutes of play. In his place, the Israeli club acquired Trevion Williams from ALBA, where the American averaged 11 points and 7 assists. However, this addition is unlikely to resolve all of Maccabi's issues. Their defence remains problematic. Even Baskonia managed to score 95 points against them last week, shooting 56.1% from the field.
Žalgiris Kaunas
Žalgiris continue to improve with each match. Andrea Trinchieri has built an almost impenetrable defence and is now crafting a formidable offence around the duo of Thomas Walkup and Sylvain Francisco. So far, the guards together are averaging around 28 points and 6 assists. Francisco, in particular, was pivotal in their last encounter with ASVEL, contributing 22 points and 6 rebounds single-handedly. On the defensive end, it's worth noting that they held ALBA to just 66 points on their court and conceded only 72 points against Anadolu Efes.
Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Žalgiris Kaunas Prediction
Žalgiris Kaunas grow stronger with each round, something that can't be said about Maccabi Tel Aviv. Their newcomer will clearly need time to adapt, so a rapid improvement isn't likely.
