Adam Williams presents his prediction for the UK Championship snooker match.
Jack Lisowski
One of the most exciting matches of the day is, of course, between Mark Allen and Jack Lisowski. Jack has not lost a single frame in Glasgow yet; he defeated Jordan Brown and Si Jiahui with a score of 4-0. However, the quarter-finals have been the ceiling for Lisowski this season. Jack reached the quarter-finals of the Wuhan Open but was defeated by Long Zehuang and also lost in a tough battle in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship against Mark Allen (6-3). It was quite a painful loss for Jack as he was leading 3-1. In the first two stages of the Home Nations Series, Jack lost in the first round: at the English Open, he lost to Xu Si (4-3), and at the Northern Ireland Open, he lost to Wang Yuchen (4-3).
Mark Allen
Mark Allen beat He Guoqiang (4-1) in the first round, and yesterday he triumphed over Ryan Day (4-2). It was a very bright and solid game, with Allen making breaks of 127, 104, 103, and 78 points. With this form, Allen seems unfazed by his opponent, but maintaining such a level of play is very challenging, especially in short-format matches. This was evident in Belfast, where Allen won against Liu Hongyu (4-0) in the first round but then lost to Oliver Lines (4-3) in the second, having only managed one good break.
Mark Allen vs Jack Lisowski Prediction
There is an interesting dynamic in their head-to-head history. Initially, Lisowski won five matches in a row, followed by Allen winning five matches consecutively, with the current tally at 6-5 in Allen's favour. Only two matches have ended with a total under in frames, and that was quite some time ago. Typically, matches between Allen and Lisowski end with scores like 5-4, 6-5, 4-2, and 5-3. We believe that will be the case today. Both are in good shape and ready to display quality snooker, especially as there are not many highly-seeded players in this half of the draw, which means there is a great chance to reach the final.
