Mark Allen
Mark Allen beat Jackson Page 6-4 in the first round of the UK Championship. The quality of the play was frankly poor, with quite a few mistakes on both sides, resulting in many scrappy frames and only a few good breaks. We believe that Allen will be able to draw the right conclusions, and in the match with Wu Yize, we will see a different snooker from the winner of the UK Championship 2022. This season, Mark has reached the semi-finals of the British Open and the Champion of Champions, with several unexpected defeats. However, given that Mark Selby and Ronnie O'Sullivan have been eliminated, the road to the final has become easier, and Mark should capitalise on this opportunity.
Wu Yize
Wu Yize is now in the top 32 and this season nearly clinched his first trophy. At the English Open, Wu Yize defeated Judd Trump, Stuart Bingham, and Ali Carter, but lost to Neil Robertson 9-7 in the final. Notably, Wu was trailing 8-2 but managed to narrow the gap to just one frame. Yize displays very good snooker and takes advantage of his opponents' mistakes. It would be beneficial for him to add stability in constructing breaks, as Wu can make several good breaks in one match and none in another.

Wu Yize showed good readiness for the tournament, beating Ashley Carty 6-2 and David Lilley 6-4, and the victory over Si Jiahui brought a lot of positive emotions. Allen is an absolute favourite, but this match will be difficult for him, as Yize knows how to play when he's behind. We assume that the pressure on Allen will be high, making it difficult to produce big breaks, but Allen will progress.
