Mark Allen had a complicated match in the previous round. He beat John Higgins only in the decisive frame. Despite a long and nervous game, winning such an opponent like Higgins should add some confidence to Allen. He was eliminated at the early stages in the last five participations in this tournament. Now that he’s in the quarter-finals, he wants to advance further, for sure.

Mark Selby has a slight advantage in the head-to-head statistics, namely winning 12 out of the last 23 matches against Allen. I don’t think it’s going to be an easy walk for Selby. Allen will not lose this game without resistance.
