Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Wimbledon match.
Mattia Bellucci has reached the third round of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career. He beat Jiří Lehečka in three sets. Now he’s to face Cameron Norrie, a player who was already beaten by Bellucci in Monte Carlo. Now the British wil perform in front of the home crowd.
Mattia Bellucci
He doesn’t perform too well on grass. However, his style fits this surface a lot. Aggressive playing, confident short hits, fast moving. Bellucci has won five out of his last six games in the last two weeks. He won Lehečka and Crawford, despite two tie-breaks. Mattias has already had 32 aces in two games.
Cameron Norrie
Norrie is never an easy opponent when it takes the Wimbledon. However, each game he has played here since 2022 has included either sets won by both opponents, or extra games, or both. The British has had two wins and two defeats on grass this season. He lost a set to both Tiafoe and Bautista Agut at the Wimbledon. Despite being the favourite, Cameron has already lost to Bellucci this season.
Mattia Bellucci vs Cameron Norrie Prediction
The game will be long and equal. Both players know each other very well. Mattia Bellucci has been performing way better recently, keeping good level on grass.
