Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
Both teams face a back-to-back fixture after a hectic weekend schedule. While the Phoenix Suns continue their pattern of alternating wins and losses, the Memphis Grizzlies have shown signs of resurgence, securing back-to-back victories with a rejuvenated offence.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies appear to have turned a corner following an injury-plagued winter. The only key absentee now is Jaren Jackson Jr., while Ja Morant has returned in style—dropping 30 points against both the Dallas Mavericks (122:111) and the New Orleans Pelicans (107:104), reigniting the Grizzlies' winning momentum. They thrive in fast-paced, high-energy games on home court, using smart rotation to maintain intensity. This approach has paid dividends in back-to-backs, where they boast an 8-3 record and a +8.7 point differential—the third-best mark in the league.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns, however, have struggled significantly in back-to-back scenarios, winning just three of their 13 games under such conditions—only the New Orleans Pelicans have fared worse (12). The heavy reliance on Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, who each average around 37 minutes per game, takes a toll on the Suns’ energy levels. Moreover, internal conflicts with the coaching staff and a visible lack of urgency have left them with the league’s worst defensive rating since 1st February (122.3).
Memphis Grizzlies vs Phoenix Suns Prediction
The Memphis Grizzlies’ depth and ability to rotate effectively should be the deciding factor. Even if the Phoenix Suns start strong, the fresher Grizzlies are likely to take control in the latter stages. Additionally, the Suns had a gruelling overtime battle in Colorado before another taxing trip to Texas—further diminishing their chances of keeping up physically.
