Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Miami Heat have hit rock bottom with a nine-game losing streak and can’t seem to get it right even with a full roster. The Houston Rockets, on the other hand, are enjoying a flawless March and charging up the Western Conference with serious momentum.
Miami Heat
Erik Spoelstra is enduring the worst stretch of his coaching tenure. Since March 8, the Miami Heat have lost six straight at home, including a painful defeat to the Detroit Pistons (113:116). Even a combined 59 points from Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro wasn’t enough. The Heat’s rebounding woes (43.2 per game, 23rd in the NBA) and a middling assist rate (26.2 per game) continue to hurt them. With play-in territory looming, it’s clear this team is stumbling toward the finish line.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets won eight straight games, albeit mostly against non-playoff opposition. Still, they’ve confidently dispatched sides like the Chicago Bulls, the New Orleans Pelicans and the Orlando Magic, showing composure and balance. The Rockets boast the fifth-best defence (109.1 PPG allowed) and are first in rebounding (48.7 per game). Jalen Green has taken over offensively, averaging 23+ points in five straight, and if Amen Thompson is cleared to play, his 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds will be a huge boost. They’ve also shaken off early-season road woes, winning two away games in a row.
Miami Heat vs Houston Rockets Prediction
Everything points toward another long night for the Heat. The Rockets are defending better, rebounding harder and riding serious momentum, while the Heat have lost four of their last five games by double digits. Expect the Rockets to cover with room to spare.
