Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Milwaukee Bucks continue to surprise, this time in a positive way. After a disappointing start, they have launched an impressive run, winning six of their last seven games, with the only loss coming due to a contentious officiating decision. Is the Miami Heat next in line?
Miami Heat
The Heat's defence isn't as solid as often perceived, especially since Jimmy Butler's return. Over 168 minutes with Jimmy, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro on the floor, the Heat have allowed 122 points per 100 possessions. While this didn't affect their results against the Philadelphia 76ers without Tyrese Maxey (106:89) or against the Dallas Mavericks without Luka Dončić (123:118 OT), it is bound to make a difference against the Milwaukee Bucks with Giannis Antetokounmpo in MVP form.
Milwaukee Bucks
The key change for the Bucks compared to the start of the season has been their defence. They have improved from allowing 115.7 to 108.1 points per 100 possessions. Admittedly, their recent opponents haven't been powerhouses, but the Miami Heat aren't exactly an offensive juggernaut either. And then there's Giannis. Antetokounmpo notched a 37-point triple-double against the Indiana Pacers (129:117), then outscored the entire Chicago Bulls team in the paint (28-24). He averages 18.8 points from the paint—more than anyone over the past 29 seasons since such records have been kept.
Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks Prediction
With Giannis Antetokounmpo in this form, betting against the Milwaukee Bucks is ill-advised. Especially in a matchup with the Miami Heat, who have been something of a trigger for him in recent years. We're backing the Bucks for a straight win.
