Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the MLB match.
Last week was red-hot for the Miami Marlins. They set a franchise record with six consecutive road wins, and their current winning streak now stands at seven. The Marlins return home on a high to face the Minnesota Twins.
Miami Marlins
The Marlins closed June with a 14-12 record — their first winning month since May of last year. During the first six games of their current streak, they consistently racked up over 10 hits per game — when this side catches fire, it’s best to stay clear. On the mound will be Edward Cabrera, whose form has improved dramatically: after posting a 7.23 ERA in April, he followed up with a 2.00 ERA across five May starts and 2.89 in four appearances in June.
Minnesota Twins
Life on the road hasn’t been kind to the Minnesota Twins. They have won just 40% of their away games — fifth worst in the league. Their last road series win came nearly a month ago against the Athletics. Defensive struggles in June have also stood out — they conceded 10+ runs in seven games, the worst mark in MLB over that stretch. As a team, the Twins have an ugly 6.47 ERA across their last 17 games, losing 13 of them.
Miami Marlins vs Minnesota Twins Prediction
Momentum is firmly with the Miami Marlins, and price doesn’t matter much in this case. They swept the Arizona Diamondbacks in their previous series as major underdogs. Backing this version of the Twins at current odds doesn’t appeal at all — the value is clearly with the home side.
