Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Saudi Arabia Masters snooker match.
Michael Holt
Michael Holt is back on tour after a two-year absence. Holt has won three Q-Tour events to secure a place on the tour. Holt hasn't played well in his first matches, he lost to Pang Junxu 2:5 and Shaun Murphy 1:5, and then easily beat Reanne Evans 4:0. Now Michael is ready to play against Ahmad Abul, and this is a very good draw for Holt. Michael has only 1000 ranking points, which is very poor, and Holt simply needs to win a few matches in Riyadh. If Holt wins, and there is no doubt about it, he will play Liu Hongyu in his next match and he can expect to win this game too.
Ahmad Abul
Ahmad Abul from Kuwait is 31 years old, he has never been on tour and has never even come close to this. Ahmad has never reached the playoffs at the Asian Championships and he only played once in the last 32 round at the Asian 6-red Championship. Abul has played three matches at the Asian Q-Tour this season and lost in the quarterfinal. Ahmad has only one century in last two years, which tells us about his low skill level.
Michael Holt - Ahmad Abul Prediction
I don't see any arguments here why Abul will be able to take even one frame. Michael Holt is very motivated to prove himself after returning to the tour, Holt has no ranking points, and the prize fund at Riyadh’s tournament can help Michael climb high in the ranking, and for this he needs to confidently beat Abul. I think Michael Holt will easily win 4:0.
