Milan are among the top three teams in the Italian Serie A. However, they have the worst goal difference among the top 6 teams (21:14). Injuries have affected a lot. Some games saw Milan trying to do something without their key attacking players. Their defensive performance isn’t flawless either. This is reflected in the Champions League, with Milan allowing less than 1xG only in the first game.
Borussia Dortmund
The German side has conceded only 2 goals in their 4 Champions League games, but this statistics are deceitful. Borussia Dortmund have allowed at least 1,1 xG in 3 out of the last 4 games in the Champions League, their level of defensive performance is clear if we take a look at the statistics in the German Bundesliga. Borussia have allowed 20 xG in the first 12 games, it’s even more than Union Berlin have allowed (18,8).

Borussia advanced to the Champions League play-offs all 10 times when they had over 7 points after 4 rounds. This is the number of points Borussia currently have, however, the play-offs are not guaranteed for them now. Besides, the side has been lucky sometimes. In the first game versus Milan they managed to keep the clean sheet despite allowing 1,6 xG.
