Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Bookmakers are rating the clubs almost equally, even though they are separated by eight positions and seven points, and Burnley's squad is valued at more than five times higher.
Millwall
Millwall sit in 10th place in the table. Their position is equally reflected in the home standings, where they concede an average of one goal per game. They have claimed victories over less formidable opponents like Sheffield Wednesday, Preston North End, and Plymouth Argyle. Millwall have yet to face any real powerhouse, having suffered defeats against Watford and Luton Town. Interestingly, regardless of the venue, their last five matches have not seen more than two goals scored.
Burnley
Burnley also prefer to keep games tight. In their last six matches, not once have they seen a total over 2.5, with three of those ending in goalless draws. Remarkably, Burnley have gone nine matches unbeaten, securing four wins and five draws. Their top scorer, central midfielder Josh Brownhill, has just five goals. Without him, who would score? Their actual forwards have been struggling, with only one or two goals.
Millwall vs Burnley Prediction
With these statistics, it would be quite surprising if the teams deliver a high-scoring performance. Even three goals seem unlikely. Burnley's streak of not losing in the last seven head-to-head meetings suggests a likely outcome.
