Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the FA Cup match.
Dagenham & Redbridge stand as the only non-league side left in the FA Cup. Their opponents might not seem as daunting as Tamworth's, who sit alongside them in the National League table.
Millwall
Under the new leadership of head coach Alex Neil, Millwall have loosened up a bit, securing an eventful 2:2 draw in their last Championship outing. However, they are yet to clinch a victory under his guidance: with a draw and a narrow 0:1 defeat to Oxford United from two games. The latter scoreline is far easier to envisage in any Millwall match than the former: they have seen no more than two goals in 13 of their past 15 games.
Dagenham & Redbridge
Dagenham & Redbridge seem more prone to conceding. In their last 10 encounters, they have allowed this to happen on eight occasions, which almost always (seven times) led to a loss. Yet they are not to be underestimated. They have already knocked out two League Two clubs in the FA Cup.
Millwall vs Dagenham & Redbridge Prediction
It’s challenging to predict if this match will follow Millwall's typical total under 2.5 scenario, as their opponent hails from a completely different league. However, this provides confidence that the hosts will score two, given that in their recent 10 games across competitions, Dagenham & Redbridge have conceded an average of 1.7 goals against much lesser opposition. Scoring the same in return is unlikely for them, which is why we opt for a combo bet—Millwall to win with at least two goals scored.
