Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
This Western Conference clash carries real weight in the playoff race. The Minnesota Wild are fighting to stay in the wildcard picture, while the Vegas Golden Knights are pushing to reclaim second spot in the standings and sharpen their edge before the postseason.
Minnesota Wild
The Wild have struggled to keep up against stronger opposition. In recent outings against the likes of the St Louis Blues (1:5), the New York Rangers (2:3 OT), and the Dallas Stars (0:3), they conceded three or more goals every time. Their home record doesn’t inspire confidence either — just 38 points from 35 games, which ranks them 10th in the West. Worse still, they’re missing firepower: Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek are unavailable, while Marcus Foligno is a doubt.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights, on the other hand, are hitting form at just the right time. They've won three straight, averaging five goals per game in that stretch — including dominant wins over the Boston Bruins (5:1), the Detroit Red Wings (6:3), and the Tampa Bay Lightning (4:2). Jack Eichel is pulling the strings with seven points (2+5) over those games and sits fifth in league scoring with 87 points on the year. Historically, the Golden Knights have also enjoyed this matchup — they've beaten the Minnesota Wild in seven of the last eight meetings, averaging 3.75 goals per game in those contests.
Minnesota Wild vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
Given the Wild’s depleted lineup, shaky home record, and recent struggles, this feels like a strong opportunity for Vegas to keep rolling. With their offence firing and a strong head-to-head record, a combo bet looks well worth backing.
