Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Indian Wells Masters match.
Mirra Andreeva continues to impress, having beaten Elena Rybakina (6:1, 6:2) for the second time in a month. The Russian is in outstanding form and dominates on hard courts. Elina Svitolina, while an experienced competitor, has struggled against top-ranked opponents—losing her last six matches against top players by at least 4.5 games. The Ukrainian is outside the top 20 and has yet to regain her previous level.
Mirra Andreeva
Andreeva boasts an impressive 63-21 record on hard courts and has won 14 of 17 matches in 2025, with her only losses coming against Aryna Sabalenka and Rebecca Šramková. She is currently on a nine-match winning streak, covering a −5.5 game handicap in seven of those victories.
Elina Svitolina
Svitolina is ranked 23rd, well below Andreeva’s 11th place. While she remains a solid mover around the court, her record against top-20 players is concerning—15 losses in her last 19 matches. The Ukrainian had a strong Australian Open quarter-final run, but since then, she has failed to progress past the second round in any tournament. Reaching the Indian Wells quarter-finals is her best result at this event in six years.
Mirra Andreeva vs Elina Svitolina Prediction
Andreeva is in red-hot form and producing dominant results. Given her nine-match winning streak and Svitolina’s struggles against top players, backing Mirra to win comfortably makes sense.
