Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Wimbledon match.
Mirra Andreeva has advanced to the round of 16 at Wimbledon, matching her best result at this tournament since 2023. She now faces Emma Navarro, who came close to reaching the semi-finals last year. Both players are currently ranked inside the world’s top 10 and are aiming to book a place in the quarter-finals.
Mirra Andreeva
Mirra Andreeva produced a confident display against Hailey Baptiste in the third round, claiming a 6:1, 6:3 win while committing just 12 unforced errors. She is yet to drop a set at this year’s Wimbledon and has won each of her matches with a margin of at least six games. While her three opponents so far have been ranked outside the top 50, the upcoming contest will present a more significant test. However, in their only previous meeting, Andreeva comfortably defeated Emma Navarro (6:2, 6:2).
Emma Navarro
By contrast, Emma Navarro came through a gruelling three-set battle against Barbora Krejcikova, dropping the opening set and losing her serve twice in the deciding set. Such inconsistency could prove costly against the composed and clinical Mirra Andreeva. Serving has not been a strong point for Navarro at Wimbledon — she has landed 66% of her first serves, winning just 63% of those points. Moreover, she has managed only three aces across her three matches, pointing to a relatively underpowered first serve.
Mirra Andreeva vs Emma Navarro Prediction
Having spent two and a half hours on court against Barbora Krejcikova, Emma Navarro may be carrying fatigue into this match. Given her current form, Mirra Andreeva is expected to claim a straight-sets win with a comfortable margin. A minimal handicap looks like a favourable selection.
