Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Indian Wells Masters match.
Mirra Andreeva has broken into the top 10 and, following this tournament, will be ranked at least eighth in the world. Świątek, meanwhile, has been dominant in Indian Wells, steamrolling past her opponents without dropping a set. The Pole is eager to avenge her recent defeat in Dubai, where Andreeva produced a brilliant performance.
Mirra Andreeva
Andreeva showcases remarkable tactical maturity for her age. The Russian has won 15 of her 18 matches this season, with her only defeats coming against Aryna Sabalenka (twice) and Rebecca Šramková. In her previous match against Elina Svitolina, Mirra secured four breaks and won 82% of points on her first serve. Notably, she has performed well against top-10 players, taking at least a set in three of her last five encounters.
Iga Świątek
Świątek has found her rhythm in Indian Wells. The Polish star has yet to drop a set in this tournament and has conceded just 12 games across four matches. She has a strong record against top-10 opposition, winning five of her last eight such encounters. Unlike Andreeva, Świątek has extensive experience in the latter stages of major events, having reached at least the quarter-finals in three consecutive tournaments. However, she has struggled against Andreeva in recent meetings: in August 2024, she was pushed to three sets (4:6, 6:3, 7:5), and in February 2025, she suffered a straight-sets defeat (3:6, 3:6).
Mirra Andreeva vs Iga Świątek Prediction
Świątek is an experienced player with numerous titles, but Andreeva is in sensational form and recently claimed a WTA 1000 title in Dubai. Given their recent encounters, the Russian has every chance to trouble Świątek again. We’re backing Andreeva with a +4.5 handicap.
