Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Wimbledon match.
Mirra Andreeva prepares for her third career Wimbledon appearance. After last year’s first-round elimination, she approaches this match with double the motivation. Fortunately, her opponent is far from top-tier.
Mirra Andreeva
Andreeva’s grass season began unconvincingly. In Bad Homburg, she fell in the quarterfinals to world No. 27 Linda Noskova (3:6, 3:6). While her attacking game faltered in Germany, her defence shone—she conceded just five aces. Now facing a significantly weaker opponent, Mirra should cruise comfortably.
Mayar Sherif
Sherif consistently underperforms on fast surfaces like grass. This season, she’s played just one match on it—a straight-sets defeat to world No. 82 Viktorija Golubic (3:6, 5:7). The Egyptian won only 48% of service points against Golubic’s 55% and saved a dismal 25% of break points.
Mirra Andreeva vs Mayar Sherif Prediction
This match holds no suspense. Though Mirra has minor issues, they won’t matter against such feeble opposition. Expect the Russian to advance effortlessly.
