Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serbian SuperLiga.
The head-to-head record speaks for itself: Crvena Zvezda have come out on top in all but a few draws, and the visitors’ current form is flawless — six straight wins. Mladost Lucani look in real danger of being swept aside by the champions’ attacking power.
Mladost Lucani
The hosts have had a patchy start to the season with one win, two draws and one defeat. In their last 10 home league matches Mladost Lucani have won four, lost three and drawn three, with both teams scoring in half of those games. Despite decent numbers going forward, their attack often struggles against the league’s top sides, while defensive lapses remain an issue.
Crvena Zvezda
Crvena Zvezda are the undisputed giants of Serbian football. In their last 10 league fixtures they have seven wins, two draws and just one defeat. Away from home they have 17 victories, one loss and one draw, averaging a goal every 26 minutes on their travels. Their blend of high tempo, aggressive pressing and a deep pool of attacking talent gives them a clear edge over mid-table opposition.
Mladost Lucani v Crvena Zvezda Prediction
The gulf in class is obvious: Crvena Zvezda consistently dismantle sides of Mladost’s level, dominating possession and shot count. With their current winning streak, attacking firepower and confidence on the road, a convincing away victory looks the most likely outcome. Mladost may find the net, but keeping the visitors’ attack quiet is highly improbable.
