Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the EHF Champions League match.
Montpellier are making a great effort to qualify for the playoffs, and their legendary coach, Partis Kanaye, is retiring after 29 years with the club. It was under his leadership that the team won the Champions League twice (2003, 2018). Despite the injury to Stash Skube, the French club competes on the international stage, sometimes sacrificing results in the domestic league.
On the other hand, GOG, despite some good transfers in the off-season, has remained a club that plays more or less well only in their home games. In the current championship, the Danish champions were able to win only against Wisla from Plock. Even in a successful match against Porto, the team lost despite leading by 6 goals after the first half. The first-round match in Denmark was very tense, with the hosts securing victory only in the final moments. My intuition tells me that the hosts will take revenge in this match, as the first one was too close.
