Napoli
Napoli have been unstable so far. They had only two games led by Walter Mazzari. They confidently beat Atalanta (2:1) in the first match but then they were defeated by Real Madrid (2:4) in the Champions League. Besides, Napoli have problems with left defenders. Olivera is injured along with Mário Rui. As a result, Juan Jesus has taken this position, although he has had only 17% of the games in his career as left back.
Inter
Inter definitely play better than their opponents in Serie A. They lead in the league, with 332 points, 1,96 xG and goal difference (+23). It’s no surprise as Lautaro Martínez is on fire (13 +1). The Argentinian forward has scored 27 goals in 2023. Only Diego Milito (28 goals in 2012) and Christian Vieri (28 goals in 2001) have scored for Inter more within a year.
Napoli - Inter prediction
Unlike Napoli, key players of Inter had a chance to take some rest this week as Inter’s head coach made some changes in the starting eleven. Napoli didn’t have such an option. They played in full strength, yet they lost anyway.They’re only building their new style of playing, at least it’s obvious when they face a strong opponent.
I believe that Inter will defeat their opponent without significant problems.
