Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Napoli’s ambitious plans of securing a second Scudetto in three seasons were not derailed by their draw against AS Roma (1:1) at the Olimpico. Ahead of their home clash against Udinese, they will already know the outcome of Inter Milan’s rescheduled fixture against Fiorentina, which could influence the title race.
Napoli
A potential issue for Napoli in the second half of the season is the lack of a top-class winger after failing to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who was sold to Paris Saint-Germain. However, their attacking form remains strong—since the start of 2025, Napoli have scored 11 goals in five matches (joint-best in Serie A alongside Inter Milan), generating 7.16 xG. At home, they have won 9 out of 11 league matches, with Romelu Lukaku breaking into the top five goalscorers in Serie A (9+6).
Udinese
Last Sunday, Udinese secured their first league win since 23 December, ending a five-match winless run with a nervy victory over Venezia (3:2). Defensive issues persist—since January, they have conceded eight goals, with only Monza (9), Lecce (10), and Empoli (12) faring worse. Adding to their woes, key full-back Hassane Kamara is suspended, which could further expose their fragile defensive structure in a 3-4-3 formation.
Napoli vs Udinese Prediction
Napoli have dominated this fixture, winning eight of the last ten meetings, including a victory in December (3:1). With Napoli pushing hard for the title, they should comfortably score at least two goals against a struggling Udinese defence.
