Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the MLS match.
Last season, both clubs were struggling near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. In 2025, they have shown improvement, though New England Revolution have yet to match the consistency of Nashville SC. This fixture offers them an opportunity to narrow the gap.
New England Revolution
There is currently a nine-point difference between the sides, but one key detail needs to be considered. New England have played two fewer matches than most of their Eastern Conference opponents. This means their current position of 11th, outside the play-off zone, is not yet cause for alarm. They are just two points off the wildcard spots and five points away from automatic quarter-finals qualification. Like much of the lower half of the Eastern Conference, the team failed to earn any points in the previous round, missing a chance to climb the standings.
Nashville SC
Nashville, in contrast, are comfortably placed in the upper half of the standings and come into this match on the back of a strong result. They recorded a 2:0 away win over Chicago Fire, who sit close to New England Revolution in the standings. That victory moved them up to third in the East. It has been a while since Nashville last suffered defeat — they are unbeaten in nine consecutive MLS matches and eleven overall. The team have also been clinical in attack, scoring at least twice in each of their last five games. Only two of those fixtures ended in draws.
New England Revolution vs Nashville SC Prediction
Given New England’s recent form (1-3-1), it is hard to favour them for a win. A draw seems like the best-case scenario, so a double chance on Nashville appears to be the safer choice.
